Praise the Lord for modern medicine and for the ability to purchase "the necessities" in time of need. I've battled with a bacterial infection and parasites my second week here in Ecuador. The begining of this week was fairly difficult battling a fever, stomach "discomfort", and not being able to eat for 3 days. The severity of it hit early Monday morning and we had just arrived Sunday evening back in Quito for some meetings with the HCJB team here. (We had traveled to Shell my first week here to get settled in our homes there... I will get into that more as I return to Shell in a few weeks) I can say it was truely a blessing for it to become severe here as the doctor's office was very close and I was in a very comfortable accomidation.
An incredible praise is the ease and timeliness that I was able to see a doctor. When we first arrived at the office we recieved the No. 12 and the waiting room was full. It was 3 days into my sickness so I was very weak and in not a very good condition to wait. My friend/colleague, Tannia, was able to talk with the staff and I was able to get in immediately. In only hours they were able to provide the results of the test and prescribe the correct medicine for me to recover quickly. Thank you Jesus! Thank you to everyone who was praying for my recovery and for my strength: physically, mentally, and spiritually during that time.
